If you aint Dutch, you aint much
It is the time of the year when I get really nostalgic about college, the tulips around town, the smell of freshly cut grass…I guess spring reminds me of Pella.
It is hard to believe it has been almost 3 years since I have graduated from Central College. Erik and I were talking last night about how we love that we are not in college anymore, but yet there are things about college I still...

Love Lives Here.
This is just a little craft project i whipped up over the weekend.
Everything i needed for this project i found in our basement. Score.
I had an old oil painting in the basement that our neighbor gave us when we moved out of our old apartment. It was a nice gift, but not really my style. So i spray painted over the painting white. Then i stuck some sticker letters on the canvas and painted the...

Crafting Cousins.
My cousin Ellen spent the weekend with me, and boy did I put her to work!
We spent the first part of our weekend scouring Iowa City for good deals, and boy did we find some!
Ellen made us homemade potato soup for dinner and we watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s, it was lovely.
Then on Sunday we made it to McDonald’s just in time to have breakfast, so we sat and watched old people, and enjoyed lovely...

Happy Birthday Deanne.
Happy 25th Birthday to my twin! (yes, today is my 25th birthday too)
I feel so blessed to have Deanne by my side for the past 25 years.
Things are changing, we are growing older. Deanne is going to be a MOMMY! I can’t wait to be there for her when the baby gets here (I can’t wait to hold that baby!).
She is so brave.
So today, on our birthday; we both will go to work, send our daily email about...
Happy 25th my Mr!
Dearest Husband,
Everyday I am so thankful that i have you in my life. You are loving, caring, and so incredibly smart.
24 was good to us. But i have a feeling that 25 is going to be even better.
Thank you for being an amazing teammate and friend. I don’t know what i would do without you.
I love you to the moon and back. Happy Birthday!
Love,
Your Wifey

Bucket List.
I crossed two things off of my bucket list this week!
I taught myself how to poach an egg(on the first try). It was awesome.
I bought something from Anthropologie. It was super on sale, but I still feel fabulous.
I am goining to continue to tackle things on that list. And add more things to it!
Office Jobs.
My favorite thing about my twin and I both having office jobs is that we send each other daily emails about what we had for lunch.
I honestly look forward to it everyday.
PS. Today I am having soup and Deanne is having leftovers.

The Best Man.
Erik and I have known Julian for 5 or 6 years now. He was Erik’s roommate at Luther when we first started dating. Julian was such a nice guy to me, when I would visit Luther we would make me feel welcomed and right at home.
He put up with hours of Erik and I on the phone together, and he would let me crash in their room when I would stay at Luther. What an outstanding roommate.
We had the...
Berry and Peach Crostata
Last weekend Erik’s mom gave me a few recipies from the Hy-Vee fall magazine…And they turned out great! I first made the berry and peach crostata. It was super easy to make and it looks super fancy! I did it the semi-homemade way and used a store bought pie crust and a mixture of fresh and frozen fruit. I know i will be making this one again!

Fall Yarn Wreath.
I really wanted a new wreath for our front door, but i wanted one what was sweet and simple, so i whipped up this little guy.
I went to Michael’s and bought a foam wreath for about 5 bucks and wrapped it in some yarn that i already had around the house, then i remembered i had a pattern for those felt flowers from a book that i bought for the wedding. I used a couple of sheets of felt...

Beneath the Medicine Tree.
To this very day, I absolutely love this Copeland album. It still speaks to my soul the same way it did when I was 18 years old. I got this album during the summer right before my freshman year of college. It was sort of my “coming of age” album.
I reminds me of how excited I was to fall in love.
Dreaming of the man of my dreams coming to my dorm room in 2nd Center...

In the past 5 months my life has been a complete whirlwind of lots of happenings. With all of the new additions in my life i.e. husband, house, new job. I somehow lost myself in the mix.
I have been so worried about everything and everyone else; I forgot to make sure that I was okay.
I have been so focused on the future I forgot to enjoy the present
I love the change of the seasons. I love that it...

I have a home.
I am in love with it. I feel like this place holds a lot of great memories, and I am excited to make my own here with Erik.
As we were moving out of our apartment, there was a sadness there. I grew up a lot in that small apartment on Jefferson street. Erik went from being my boyfriend, to fiancé, to husband in that apartment. We had a lot of fun there. BUT I am excited for this new...

Worth Blogging About.
On June 25th I became a wife. And it was amazing. I have really been enjoying my new title as Mrs. Dana Lehmann. It has been really great to look down and see the tiny silver band besides my engagement ring…it makes it so official. I also love to see the shiny silver band around Erik’s finger too.
The entire week before the wedding was perfect. I finished my second year as an AmeriCorps VISTA...

The Final Countdown.
It is officially one month until the wedding. So far, so good. Things are coming along and I can hardly believe how quickly time has passed. I need to kick it into high gear! I am so excited!
The Johnson/Lehmann household is another story. Things have just been crazy around here. Our small apartment is starting to feel even smaller with an overflow with gifts/wedding stuff.
We found a dead mouse...
